A native of the municipality of Miches, El Seibo province, Yonattan is dedicated to activities related to the environment, with the aim of teaching others about the importance of protecting nature.

In 2010, he trained as a park ranger and in 2016 he graduated as a natural resource management technician from the Technical Institute of Higher Studies in Environment and Natural Resources.

Since 2011, he has been part of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, first as a park ranger and since 2017 as administrator of Protected Areas.

For six years he has been promoting efforts for the conservation of sea turtles in Miches, which evolved to become the Program for Monitoring and Protection of Sea Turtles of Miches PROTORTUGA, in which he participates as coordinator of conservation and research.
